Agentforce for Nonprofits: What Agentforce Nonprofit Actually Includes

Agentforce for Nonprofits is Salesforce's AI-agent layer built for Nonprofit Cloud — and as of late 2025 it's the default AI offering for new nonprofits on the Power of Us program, not NPSP. It runs on Nonprofit Cloud's Person Account data model, which is why, for nonprofits, the NPSP-to-Nonprofit-Cloud question and the AI question have become the same conversation. Here's what it includes and what it needs.

What it is

Agentforce Nonprofit brings AI agents — for donor engagement, program and case support, and staff assistance — natively into Nonprofit Cloud. Because it's part of the Nonprofit Cloud product line rather than a bolt-on, it inherits the platform's data model and roadmap directly.

Why it's tied to Nonprofit Cloud

This is the key point for existing NPSP organizations: Agentforce is built against standard objects and Person Accounts, which is Nonprofit Cloud's architecture — not NPSP's Household model. So an NPSP org generally can't just switch on Agentforce Nonprofit; the AI roadmap is one of the main reasons NPSP is effectively frozen while investment flows to NPC. If AI is a goal, it strengthens the case in migrate from NPSP now or wait.

What it can do for nonprofits

  • Answer supporter and constituent questions from your own knowledge base.
  • Assist staff with case notes, summaries and next-best-actions.
  • Handle routine donor and program inquiries, escalating to humans when needed.

What it needs

The same readiness bar as any Agentforce deployment: clean data, a structured knowledge base, scoped permissions, and a specific use case — see the readiness checklist and the 90-day data fix. For nonprofits the prerequisite is being on Nonprofit Cloud in the first place; the free NPSP → Nonprofit Cloud readiness check tells you where you stand, and what NPSP vs Nonprofit Cloud actually differ on covers the move. Our Salesforce consulting practice handles nonprofit migrations and Agentforce readiness together.

Frequently asked questions

What is Agentforce for Nonprofits?

It's Salesforce's AI-agent layer built natively into Nonprofit Cloud — for donor engagement, program and case support, and staff assistance. Since late 2025 it's the default AI offering for new nonprofits on the Power of Us program, rather than NPSP.

Can NPSP organizations use Agentforce Nonprofit?

Generally not directly. Agentforce is built against Nonprofit Cloud's standard objects and Person Accounts, not NPSP's Household model. The AI roadmap is a major reason NPSP is effectively frozen — so if AI is a goal, it strengthens the case for migrating to Nonprofit Cloud.

What does a nonprofit need before using Agentforce?

To be on Nonprofit Cloud in the first place, plus the standard Agentforce readiness bar: clean data, a structured knowledge base, scoped permissions and a specific use case. The free NPSP → Nonprofit Cloud readiness check shows whether you're positioned to move.
