Agentforce Readiness Assessment: What It Includes and What It Costs

A formal Agentforce readiness assessment runs $1,500–$7,500 for an SMB org and takes 1–2 weeks: data audit, knowledge inventory, use-case definition, permissions review and a volume-based cost model — ending in a scored go/no-go, not a sales deck.

Agentforce Readiness Assessment: What It Includes and What It Costs

An Agentforce readiness assessment is a structured 1–2 week review of whether your Salesforce org can support an AI agent — data quality, knowledge sources, permissions, use-case fit and a go/no-go with a remediation plan. Done by a partner, expect $1,500–$7,500 for an SMB org depending on size and customization; some partners fold the fee into the implementation if you proceed. Here's exactly what one includes, when it's worth paying for versus doing yourself, and the deliverables you should insist on.

What a readiness assessment covers

  1. Data quality audit. Duplicate rates, field completeness on the objects the agent will touch, and whether your reports can be trusted — the same ground as a Salesforce org health check, scoped to AI.
  2. Knowledge inventory. Where the answers the agent needs actually live (Knowledge articles, docs, inboxes, people's heads), how current they are, and the gap between that and what Agentforce can consume.
  3. Use-case definition. Which specific job the agent does first, expected volume, and the measurable outcome — "AI, somehow" is the failure mode.
  4. Security and permissions review. What the agent can see and do, scoped to least privilege, plus escalation paths to humans.
  5. Volume and cost model. Your projected conversations/actions priced against the Agentforce pricing models, so the business case is real before you commit credits.

The deliverables to insist on

  • A scored readiness report across those five areas — not a sales deck.
  • A remediation backlog with effort estimates (the 90-day data fix pattern).
  • A go/no-go recommendation with a pilot scope if go — one use case, one channel, measured.
  • A cost model for year one: usage, setup, maintenance.

If an "assessment" produces only a proposal to buy more consulting, it wasn't an assessment.

DIY or pay for it?

Work through the free Agentforce readiness checklist first — it's the same dimensions at self-serve depth. Pay for a formal assessment when:

  • Your org is 5+ years old or heavily customized (inherited automations, unknown debt),
  • The agent will be customer-facing (wrong answers cost trust, not just time), or
  • You need the readiness case to unlock budget — a scored external report moves CFOs in a way a checklist doesn't.

Skip the paid version if you're a small, clean org piloting an internal-only agent on Foundations' free credits — spend the money on data cleanup instead.

What happens after

Most SMB orgs come out with a 60–90 day remediation plan before the pilot. That's normal — most orgs aren't ready on day one, and the assessment's job is to make the gap concrete instead of discovering it in production. Costs and honest ROI for the implementation itself are in our Agentforce for small business breakdown; nonprofits should read the Agentforce Nonprofit explainer first since it's tied to Nonprofit Cloud.

We run Agentforce readiness assessments end-to-end as part of our Salesforce consulting practice — fixed fee, scored report, honest go/no-go. Book a free consultation and we'll scope yours in 30 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an Agentforce readiness assessment cost?

For an SMB Salesforce org, $1,500–$7,500 depending on org size and customization, over one to two weeks. Some partners credit the fee against the implementation if you proceed. Large or heavily customized orgs run higher.

Can I assess Agentforce readiness myself?

For a small, clean org piloting an internal agent — yes, work through a readiness checklist covering data quality, knowledge sources, permissions and a specific use case. Pay for a formal assessment when the org is old or heavily customized, the agent will face customers, or you need a scored external report to unlock budget.

What should a readiness assessment deliver?

A scored report across data, knowledge, use case, permissions and cost; a remediation backlog with effort estimates; a go/no-go recommendation with a pilot scope; and a year-one cost model covering usage, setup and maintenance. If it produces only a proposal for more consulting, it wasn't an assessment.
